Canadian Wildlife Adeventures

People often ask me why I became a fisherman. The answer is simple. It was never just about catching fish. It was about the places that fish could take me. It was about climbing into a float plane at sunrise, landing on a remote lake where there are no roads, no crowds, and no noise except the wind and the calls of wild birds. It was about watching the water come alive beneath the surface, sharing stories with family and friends, and feeling connected to something far bigger than myself. Fishing taught me patience. It taught me respect for nature. It taught me that the best days aren’t measured by the biggest fish, but by the memories you make along the way. I’ve watched caribou swim past while fighting giant lake trout. I’ve seen wolves, muskox, and bald eagles in places few people will ever visit. Those moments are worth far more than any fish mounted on a wall. That’s why I became a fisherman. Not to escape life, but to experience it fully. And after all these years, every time I push away from the dock on Aylmer Lake, I still feel the same excitement I did the very first time.
