Kingfisher Fishing have been operating out of Malindi, Kenya for over 40 years and have established a worldwide reputation. The Kenya coast is fortunate to have some of the best fishing on the African continent with a wide variety of top sporting game fish to be caught. They stand by ‘Catch & Release’ and tag wherever possible. Many records for Kenya, All Africa and the World have been caught from Kingfisher boats. It was Kingfisher who caught the biggest Blue Marlin on the Kenyan coast, a grander of 1250lbs a few years ago. Malindi is best known for Sailfish which is the smallest yet most acrobatic of the Kenyan Billfish family. Black, Blue and Striped Marlin are all regularly caught off the Kenya coast. Blacks roam both shallow and deep water throughout the season and have been caught up to 850lbs. The Blue and Striped Marlin inhabit deeper blue water and they appear for a short periods during the season. Pound for pound the Broadbill Swordfish is the hardest fighting fish in the sea and these can be caught throughout the season. Yellowfin Tuna fishing is another highlight of the season producing some big quantities and sizes, with the biggest to date weighing in at 105kgs. The Tuna season runs from late July until October. There are many different Sharks and other game fish such as Wahoo, Kingfish, Barracuda, Dorado, various Trevally, Cobia, Grouper and many other bait and bottom fish.
