Beskow Lodge

An isolated body of water in the northern part of South Africa, teeming with bass and bream and barbel, all to yourself? Doging corcodiles and Hippos? Sounds like heaven. Beskow is a hidden gem in the northern corner of the Limpopo Valley. The rustic camp is set deep in the bushveld, where you can find adventure between rocky outcrops and Baobab tress strewn about. Escape to the place where adventure still abound. It offers a communal kitchen and lounge set in front of a large outdoor fire place and boma area. This is all surrounded by five double rooms all en-suite. An old cement dam offers a welcome relief having been converted into a swimming pool. Maswiri dam, built in a tributary to the mighty Limpopo River, offers approximately 50ha of large submerged trees where the river use to run, offering the submerged vegetation that bass love to lurk in. It is well known throughout the country for large bass and bream.

Growing up I found any excuse at all to get me in the outdoors. Fishing, hunting and camping all offered the badly needed escape and I have been fortunate enough to make it part of my career.
