Yellowfish on Fly - South Africa

Yellowfish, a group of indigenous cyprinids that inhabit the rivers and still waters of Southern Africa, are truly a fly-rodder's delight. Inasmuch as they cannot be caught elsewhere in the world, they should be on the shopping list of every visiting fly angler. The two largest freshwater gamefishes in South Africa are both yellowfishes the Largemouth Yellowfish (Labeobarbus kimberleyensis) that attains an impressive 20 kilograms (44 lbs), and the Smallmouth Yellowfish (Labeobarbus aeneus) that reaches almost 11 kilograms (24 lbs). This package offer is available to the discerning fly fisherman, although other techniques may be used. This target fish species will take you to the Province of the Free State and the country's clearest lake, namely Sterkfontein Dam. Fishing can be done from a boat or off the shore, and the best results are obtained during the months of December to February. Hunting and sightseeing trips can be arranged in conjunction with this offer. This trip is R6000-00 per day for the fishing only.

Mad about fishing. It's a hobby and a business. I have also represented my province as a fresh water fisherman.
