May Salmon Fishing Adventure

May Salmon Fishing Adventure 8 Hour Spring Fishing Seafood Trip on the inshore waters in Ucluelet BC. Fish for Salmon, ling Cod, rock cod and occasional halibut. We troll a variety of Flashers with spoons, hoochies, or bait especially using anchovy to entice these fish to bite. Arrive at the Ucluelet boat dock where your vessel awaits to take you on an exciting fishing excursion. The boat is decked out with gear and your salmon-catching arsenal includes Scotty Long-Arm Downriggers, Shimano Tekota 600 Lever Drag Reels or Islander MR3 Mooching Reels (A.K.A.- Knuckle Busters) equipped with 30-pound (13.6-kg) test line, and Shimano Technium 10.6-foot-long (3.23-m) rods. As you cruise to the first fishing hole, take a moment to scan the horizon for breathtaking views of lush Vancouver Island and smaller islands in the surrounding waters. Using , look for the telltale signs of salmon feeding areas. Set out the downrigger trolling gear and chances are always good and you could reel in a 30 pounder. My preferred size Chinook salmon is between 6 to 12lbs, the best eaters. After we have caught fish, head back to dock early afternoon were your fish are cleaned, . When you’re back home, prep the fish to your taste, savoring each bite as you reflect on the wonderful memories you made while catching your own dinner.
